In addition any NFA weapon EVER transferred or registered in violation of the Act is subject to civil forfeiture. See 26 USC sec. 5872. A forfeiture proceeding is separate from any criminal prosecution, and a resolution of a criminal proceeding in favor of the defendant will not preclude a forfeiture action. See U.S. v.
